Area of Responsibility:
Coventry lies outside controlled airspace thus has no responsibility of
airspace. Coventry are responsible for aircraft from the time and place at which:
- Arriving aircraft are released by Birmingham radar until control is transferred to Aerodrome Control (ADC)
- Departing aircraft are transferred from Coventry ADC, until they are
transferred to Birmingham radar
- Over flying aircraft are transferred from an adjacent sector, until
such time as control is either returned to the previous sector or passed onto another sector.
- Aircraft from outside controlled airspace place themselves under the
control of Coventry until transfer to another unit or until they place
themselves out of the control of Coventry.
The Coventry approach function is only made up of 1 position. RAD is
responsible for the CT stack.
