The Manchester Area Control Centre, abbreviated to MACC, provides an area service in and around the Manchester TMA. The airspace is divided into 3 sectors.
The sectors are designed to manage traffic arriving and departing from Manchester, Liverpool, East Midlands, Leeds-Bradford, Newcastle and smaller airfields in the region.
All sectors are low-level, from the base of controlled airspace to FL195-285. Manchester ACC will only deal with overflights operating at or below FL280, regardless of whether another unit is online or not.
