As British Airways reaches 100 years of operation this year the XU MCD is proud to announce the British Airways -The Centenary Year event. Although the first ever flight from British Airways was flown on 25th August 1919 between London and Paris which carried a single passenger and cargo that included newspapers, Devonshire cream, jam and grouse. We will be replicating one of the first flights within the United Kingdom, which took place on the 15th of June 1928 between London and Edinburgh. The flight beat the North Eastern Railways’ Flying Scotsmans journey time to Edinburgh by approximately 15 minutes! Members are invited to fly in and out of both airports between 16z and 20z on June 22nd.
