RAF Fairford plays host to the annually held Royal International Air Tattoo which holds the reputation of being “The World’s Largest Military Airshow”. Every year, the show attracts participants from over 50 different nations and in 2012, played host to nearly 200 aircraft, ranging from Columbia, to South Korea. Aircraft are not to fly below 200ft AGL or above 6000ft AGL during their display and are to remain North of the display line at all times. Aircraft are to report “display complete” to Air Traffic Control on completion of their display. The maximum speed for the aircraft is Mach 0.90 or 600kts TAS, whichever is reached first. Aircraft DO NOT have to be military, civilian aircraft are welcome!
