A cargo flight is being prepared to be sent to RAF Mount Pleasant on East Falkland. While most of the cargo is being delivered to Brize Norton by road from the nearby DSDA depots at Bicester and Kineton, a number of specialist items, spare parts and personnel must be flown in by the RAF.
Your job is to take a cargo aircraft from RAF Brize Norton to each of the listed depots, collect a package, and then fly back again (file two separate legs). Finally, once all the cargo is in place, deliver it to EGYP via Wideawake Airbase on Ascension Island. Any cargo aircraft can be used, either military or civilian, as long as it is suitable for the leg concerned. The final legs to EGYP will need a long-haul cargo aircraft.
| RAF Lossiemouth (EGQS) | Home of the RAF Forward Aircraft Maintenance section, have a pallet for the spanner boys. Also the DARA depot at Almondbank have dropped off some pallets for you to collect. |
| RNAS Culdrose (EGDR) | Various Spare parts and other ancillary equipment for the Royal Navy, including parts from HMNB Devonport. |
| RAF Valley (EGOV) | Home of the Search and Rescue Training Unit, who have been testing new equipment which will now be deployed to the Falklands. |
| Bournemouth (EGHH) | ABRO Bovington have a couple of pallets here for you, and there is a pallet of "special" equipment from somewhere near Poole. |
| Swansea (EGFH) | DSDA Llangennech normally ship their documentation by sea as it is so bulky, but there are some urgent items to be sent, so there are three pallets of manuals and documentation to be collected. |
| RAF Brampton Wyton Henlow (EGUY) | A C-130 or larger is mandatory for this leg, as they have a lot of equipment to ship, and the MoD would rather not put it all on trucks. |
| RAF Linton-on-Ouse (EGXU) | A convenient airfield for a number of Defence suppliers with facilities in the North of England, including Rolls Royce, plus pallets of spares from ABRO Catterick. |
RAF Prestwick (EGPK) |
The "Cattle Run". A group of RATCOs from the ScATCC (Mil) going on rotation to RAF Mount Pleasant, together with a pallet of spares from HMNB Clyde, and a couple of pallets from DSDA Beith. |
Now all the cargo is in one place, it must be airlifted to RAF Mount Pleasant (EGYP) on East Falkland. This is done via the air bridge at Wideawake Airbase on Ascension Island with one leg from RAF Brize Norton (EGVN) to Wideawake Airbase (FHAW), and the final leg from Wideawake Airbase (FHAW) to RAF Mount Pleasant (EGYP).
Both of these legs are exceedingly long (4000nm+ using commercial routings) and IVAO Long Haul World Tour rules will apply with regards to sandbagging and pilot breaks. Good Luck.
